Here is how Read and Win works: Each student in grades one through eight that checks out, reads, and returns just one library book to a participating local public library, will be awarded a special Read and Win Award Ticket by their local librarian(s) good for the following awards: —FREE admission for the student to the Northeast Fair on Tuesday, —a FREE special ribbon bookmark, compliments of the IAFE and NICA. The Read and Win Award Ticket is redeemed by the student at the Northeast Fair admission gates for free entry to the fair, unlimited free rides and the free special ribbon bookmark on Tuesday or Wednesday nights, June 24 or 25. The award ticket is void at all other times. In order to have children properly chaperoned, the fair requires that every child be accompanied at the fair by an adult. The adult must pay admission to the fair, as Read and Win awards are strictly limited to students in grades one through eight. Each child that enters the fair on a Read and Win ticket must each be accompanied by a paying adult - one free to one paying adult ratio. If two children have Read and Win Award tickets, there must be two paying adults, three Read and Win Award tickets require three paying adults, etc. An adult with a volunteer worker or complimentary fair admission pass is not considered a paying adult. To be a paying adult, admission must be paid at the fair entrance gate or an advance purchase fair admission ticket must be presented at the gate. Rean and Win Award tickets are limited.
