How many chaperones can I bring with my group?
The Northeast Fair requires that children be properly chaperoned.
Chaperones / student ratio suggestions are:

Preschool - Grade 3  1 chaperone to every 3 or 4 students
Grades 4-8               1 chaperone to every 6 students
Special Needs:         1 chaperone to 1 student if necessary, otherwise the ratio would be the same as theabove grade suggestions.

Chaperones need to purchase admission tickets to enter the fair grounds.

Can my group bring its’ own lunch?
Yes. And you can enjoy the fun in the fair pavilion facilities. There will be over 25 food vendors at the fair offering a huge variety of traditional, unique and delicious food choices. Each child that attends GROUP & FAMILY Day will receive a FREE hotdog available from 11 AM to 2 PM, compliments of the Northeast Fair Board.

Can my group or individuals leave the fair and come back later in the evening without having to pay again?
Yes. Admission is valid all day and night on the same day.  Simply get a hand stamp before leaving and keep your wristband on and any member of your group can come back free of charge to fair closing.  It is a great way for kids to show their parents what they learned at GROUP & FAMILY DAY

What about safety and security?
As a Pennsylvania State Agricultural Fair requirement, the Northeast Fair operates under rigid guidelines established by the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs and The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, plus guidelines of the International Association of Fairs and Expositions.  A continually staffed first aid station is on grounds.  All rides are state inspected before opening and undergo regular state inspections during fair week. All food vendors must meet specific state sanitation criteria and are regularly inspected during fair week. Hand wash stations are placed in strategic locations on the fair grounds.  The fair is served by public water and public sanitary sewer service. An extensive security and communications system is maintained between fire, police, private security, emergency medical services, parking lot attendants, the fair main office, Reithoffer Shows, and the Luzerne and Lackawanna County Communications Centers.

What is the quality of rides?
Reithoffer Shows plays the leading fairs in America, including regional favorites such as the State Fair of New Jersey, the Bloomsburg Fair, the York Fair, and the Northeast Fair.  Reithoffer Shows is the largest and most spectacular carnival midway in the world. There will be over 20 rides erected at the Northeast Fair.

Can I get a refund once advance admission tickets are purchased?
No.  Once advance tickets are purchased there are no refunds; however, advance tickets can be used on any day of the fair and are transferable to any person of your choosing.

My group can not attend on Group & Family Day. Can we go on a different day and still purchase the $6.00 Group & Family Day advance admission ticket?
Yes. The $6.00 Group & Family Day advance admission is good any time during fair week and still includes Unlimited Free Rides, Free Parking and Free Entertainment.  The free hot dog offer is valid only on Group & Family Day. On regular fair days, some of the shows, entertainment and educational activities are designed for a broader age range and not all of the Group & Family Day activities are offered— but there will still be more to see, do and learn than your group can possibly experience in just one visit to the fair!

What are the fair hours during the entire fair week?
